The Rocklin R1 is our first and latest bike that is designed and built in house. The goal with is bike was to build something that can go long distances on a charge, has plenty of power without reliability issues, and reduce normal e-bike maintenance.
It sports a super powerful dual motor powertrain. The motors are a top quality through axle direct drive hub motor. It is controlled by a very unique chainless drive system. The reason for the chainless drive system was to cut down on maintenance needs. It gets rid of all your gears, chains, derailers, and extra cables decreasing a lot of maintenance. The chainless drive system also gives the bike a very integrated feel for the rider. Another benefit of the chainless drive is your putting energy back into the system when you are pedaling due to the pedals being connected to a generator. That is also what puts resistance on the pedals. To help with less maintenance the R1 also has regenerative braking at both motors increasing brake pad life drastically. It increases brake pad life so much that the pads will be included in the warranty. To reach our range goals we need a large battery. We went with a 60 volt 35 amp hour battery. It has a range of up to 100 miles. One of the most annoying issues that all e-bike users can relate to is flat tires. We took on the challenge to solve that as on this bike as well. The solution was a flat free tubeless tire. The display screen is something we are really excited about as well. It features an algorithm that calculates your distance till empty in real time, which is very convenient when planning your trips.
